John Lewis at Gay Pride Parade

Early Light was in production last weekend on our feature documentary about Congressman John Lewis. Now running for re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives for his 13th term, the Congressman campaigned in the Atlanta neighborhoods of Decatur and Auburn Avenue. On Sunday he rode in the Gay Pride Parade through crowds estimated as high as 300,000. A longtime advocate for gay rights and dearly loved by the GLBT community, Lewis was welcomed with cheers, hugs and countless photo-posing requests. At the end of the parade he gave a rousing speech you can view, as taped by Georgia Voice, on YouTube - click here.

Watch here for updates as we continue production in the coming months.
